Discover something they'll want to try again
Our two-hour Taster Class gives your child a welcoming introduction to air rifle target shooting, with all equipment provided and no previous experience needed. For £30, they can explore the sport, meet our instructors and discover the satisfaction of learning something new. It’s a standalone session with no obligation to continue, giving you both the chance to decide whether our classes feel right.
A confident start, one step at a time
We begin by getting to know your child and introducing range safety and responsible rifle handling. Our tried-and-tested ‘4 Routines’ system then breaks the shooting process into manageable steps. With clear demonstrations and supportive guidance, beginners learn how to establish a comfortable position and approach each shot consistently. Our method draws on decades of junior coaching, helping novices make early progress while keeping safe shooting the priority throughout.

First shots. Proud moments.
Your child will practise on paper and metal reactive targets, with instructors helping them recognise what’s working and what to explore next. There’s time to ask questions, enjoy the challenge and become familiar with the equipment, supported by adapted rifles, rifle rests and adjustable tables. Parents are welcome to stay and watch, and paper targets go home as a reminder of those first achievements. Bring a folder and pen to keep them safe and named – we’ll provide the shooting equipment.
Find the right moment to begin
Taster sessions are available during the first ten weeks of each term, subject to space in your chosen class. Starting earlier gives your child more time to settle into the group and build on what they’ve learned if they choose to continue. We usually welcome beginners from age eight and may accept older seven-year-olds following a conversation with their parents. If you’re unsure about readiness or additional support, please contact us before booking. Our teaching is group-based, without dedicated one-to-one support.
A straightforward next step
If your child would like to carry on, their £30 Taster fee counts towards the full term fee. For students joining partway through a term, we calculate the remaining fee according to how many sessions are left. We’ll explain the amount and answer any questions before you decide. There’s no pressure to enrol—our first aim is for your child to enjoy the experience and discover whether they’d like to return.
